So this is my review on tieks by Gavrieli. First let's say it took me awhile to spend that kind of money on a ballet flat. Now mind you I am no stranger to paying for luxury shoes - but normally they have very high heels on them. I own many a pair of designer shoes which I will do reviews on at a later point but lately my focus / obsession has been these little leather, foldable ballet slippers.
I chose the cardinal red in a size 7. I am a 7.5 and the site suggested I order a 7 if I do not have wide feet so that is what I did. I wore them around (in the house) for a few days - but no good. They were fine when I was sitting down with my feet up but when I walked around the house for quite some time..my toes really felt the front seem. I went online and ordered an 8. They will send you another pair so you can try the both sizes on side by side (for free) - as long as you don't wear them out and you return the other pair withen two weeks. That's cool, I like that.
So far, the 7's were too small and the 8's left foot felt good but the right seemed to be a bit bigger. Right now, I am frustrated only because it's Holiday break at tieks. (Now mind you - EVERYONE deserves a break!) Although they do email you back they are on vacation at the moment so it's hard to get much done. I have done lots of extensive research and found out that I should just order another pair of the 8 because since they are hand made the shoes may have slight differences.
I am just truely making sure they are the RIGHT shoes for me. I want less - but want to love them, and love wearing them. They are QUALITY!
I do not have big blisters on the back of my foot or a raw area on the top of my foot. Which is already a huge feat in searching for ballet shoes for me.

OK, so here is my update. I REALLY want these shoes to work. So last night I ordered two more pairs as I wait for my 8's to return and the return label for the 7 in cardianl red. I ordered the Matt Black and the Rose Gold.
I don't know yet if I will keep all three pairs. But to me this color combo makes sense. The red matches my new Chanel Jumbo - a must. The black just go with anything, and the rose gold is a great light fun color for warmer weather and outfits. I like sparkly things. Plus, my brother owes me a Christmas present and my father just gives me cash...so I don't feel THAT guilty. I will keep you updated ...I ordered last night. I REALLY want these shoes to live up to all the hype they have as I just need them in my wardrobe.
I think the company stayed closed through this weekend as I called and the messages are full. I just wanted to check on the status of my cardinal red returns for a different size. I messaged them - so hopefully at least my new shoes come tomorrow...just wanted to get my new red ones! Will keep you guys up to date.

So as you can see above - the packaging is killer. Just so cute. As you knwo I ordered the rose gold and the black matte. The black mattes are definite - no question. I am waiting for a return label for the cardinal red 7's so I can get an 8 - unfortunately though I don't think the rose gold are for me. They are REALLY cute..as you can see..I think I would just prefer a few other colors first. I will be on the site looking around later.
Here I am trying on my new sizes in 8. These are the black matte ones. Riley thinks they look great and hopes they will hold up to her long walks.
They also include a handwritten note..which is very nice. They do this even when you exchange sizes. They also include a care booklet.
I have been trying to call them to see about returning my cardinal red 7's for an 8. So...final decision is I will be keeping the matte black, sending back the rose gold - and hopefully we can get the cardinal red's settled and I will keep those too! I will be looking at the site to see which ones I love...I also want to really wear these but am afraid to go out of the house - because you can't return them than.
So I spoke to customer service and no problem! They were closed for New Years weekend. They sent me over an email with a prepaid shipping label for the rose gold - and they are sending me out another pair of the cardinal red with a return label for the size 7 I have here. Really liking this company. I messaged them on facebook and they got back to me today too - an actual conversation. Really nice.
